Just to add another story with GM that happened recently :
#### new case ### June 15 2026
After a remote software update pushed by GM, both Cruise Control and Lane Assist became disabled.
I contacted customer support because this is clearly a GM-related issue resulting from a software update over which I had no control or responsibility.
I would expect GM to proactively arrange for the vehicle to be repaired or updated at a local dealership at no cost to me. Instead, I am being told to take the vehicle to a dealer and pay diagnostic and labor charges to correct a problem caused by a GM software update.
This is difficult to understand and does not seem reasonable. Customers should not be expected to pay to fix issues resulting from manufacturer-issued software updates
#### Case 1#### 2025
purchased my car from this GMC dealership, and after only one year the battery completely died. I called the service department and was clearly told that the battery was under warranty. They booked me an appointment three days later and confirmed the issue would be covered.
During those three days, I was left without any transportation and was not offered a rental car or any alternative solution.
When I finally arrived for my appointment, they suddenly changed their story and told me that batteries are not covered under warranty, and apologized while offering to replace it only if I paid the full price.
This is unacceptable. I wasted time, missed work, and was misinformed by their own staff. If the battery was not covered, they should have told me from the beginning instead of giving false information and making me wait days without a car.
Poor communication, poor customer service, and no accountability. I will not be returning and do not recommend this dealership.

This is my third vehicle purchase from Capital GM in the last several years, and there’s a reason I keep coming back.
From day one, they’ve treated me like family. The team is knowledgeable, transparent, and simply easy to work with and respect YOUR time. Each time I walked through the doors, everyone is ready to help and make things happen. Customer service is always top notch - all the departments. Just left there this week with another great experience (after 2 very odd ones at 2 other dealers). The process is always efficient, straightforward, and less friction.
Great people, great service, and a dealership that truly values its customers.

Capital GMC Edmontons service department is fabulous. Had a break down today and called them while I was waiting to be towed. From the time of the break down + tow + paperwork I was in and out of Capital in a loaner vehicle in under 2 hours. Loni Maurer has always been fantastic to work with. Loni knows my name & my truck on sight and is knowledgable and extremely helpful and kind. I've been to many many dealerships and mechanics over the years and Capital GMC in Edmonton has one of the best service departments I've experienced. Beyond the front staff, I've had some amazing help personally from Svend Petersen & Brad Gatschene. If you want to have a GOOD experience for the routine maintenance or when unfortunate mechanical breakdowns happen, go see the staff at Capital GMC Edmonton.

Used vehicle shopping isn't a super fun activity. After going to a few different places and dealing with all sorts of salesmen, it was a breath of fresh air to deal with these guys. Sahil helped me check out the truck without any pressure. Getting through the sale with him and Steve was much better than any other experience I’ve had. After a small hiccup with a windshield not getting replaced, they hooked up me with a nice loaner truck for the day while they fixed it. Melanie from the service department was also very helpful and communicated well. Everyone there seems happy and ready to help.

Recently bought a vehicle there and would never go there again. I am from a different city, so I put a lot of trust in them. They tried to sell me a different vehicle and the only reason I noticed was because the price was more and the stock numbers did not agree, they tried to charge me a 75 fuel charge that would have been financed, and tried to put warranties on after I explicitly said no. Then the odometer was wrong, so we did not know the actual reading until I got the vehicle. The vehicle was not cleaned although they had a few days notice before I showed up and they did not fill it up, which has never been the case with new vehicles I’ve purchased in my hometown or the other dealership I used to go to in Edmonton. After this, I started receiving texts about odometer readings, only to find out they needed 3,600 reached for their demo discount from GMC and was pressured to put more kilometers on my car and implying at first that my pricing may change if I don’t u til I pushed back. I attempted to discuss with the finance manager only to be ignored. I will NEVER go there again.

Dealt with Muzi remotely of of Grande Prairie, he brought in the truck I wanted, price, trade everything agreed upon in advance. Everything was ready when I arrived at the end of the day on Saturday, signed papers and was out in 1.5hrs. Awesome buying experience!
